Determination of the amount of citric acid in pineapple fruit obtained from local market.- science lab technology research project
Citrus fruits like lemon, limes, oranges, watermelon, pineapple and grapefruit have the highest concentration of citric acid giving which is produced from their juice, these fruits are sweet and tangy flavor. Citric acid is natural component of fruits. The main aim for study was the determination of the amount of citric acid in pineapple fruit obtained from local market. Also the percentage content in the fruit juice, titration method was used to carry out an experiment. Sodium hydroxide was acted as a base a undergoing neutralization process in presence of an acid to fulfill the project. During the process of titration the average volume of sodium hydroxide used, the number of moles of sodium hydroxide and citric acid, unknown concentration used, and standard solution were obtained. Also the percentage content of citric acid (fruit juice) was obtained.

Desgin of a model biogas- science lab technology
e main purpose of this project was an attempt to modulate and simulate two existing biogas plant, situated in Meru and evaluate how the process reacts to certain conditions regarding feeding, layout and substrate mixture. The main goal was to optimize the existing processes to better performance. Both the modeling and simulation were executed in Biogas with accordance to the real conditions at the plant in question. The simulation of each model was validated against data containing measurements of, CH4 yield, CH4 production. The data was obtained from each plant in accordance with scheduled follow ups. Both models were statistically validated for several predictions. Predictions of N-total and NH4-N concentration failed for some cases. Both plants were tested with new process lay outs, where promising results were obtained. The model was provided with a post-hygienization step to handle domestic tasks. The biogas model was provided with a dewatering unit, where 35% of the concentrate was recalculated back to the system. Both setups were configured to yield the highest CH4 production. This study suggests that Biogas can be a tool for predictions and optimizations of the biogas process.

challenges faced by the Nyamira libraries in Kenya in selecting and acquiring resources- library science research project.
This study surveyed the challenges faced by the Nyamira libraries in Kenya in selecting and acquiring resources. The descriptive survey research method was adopted for the study. The population consisted of 30. Questionnaire and interview were used for data collection. Data collected from the questionnaire were analyzed using simple statistics (mean). None of the libraries under study was into a consortium with one another. However, the study revealed twelve challenges with cost as a major challenge of selection and acquisition of resources. The study recommended that the Nyamira libraries in Kenya should improve on the libraries budget in order to attain to the cost of resources electronically and for the training of staff that will handle the resources collection development. effects of computer literacy on the job performance of modern secretaries- Secretarial studies research project
Trending!
This project attempted to identify the effects of computer literacy on the job performance of modern secretaries and to find out if secretaries without computer knowledge can be conveniently employed in a modern office.
The researcher used all the secretaries and some administrative staffs in Kisii Government Secretariat which is 75 staffs as the population of the study. However, because of the smallest of the population size, the researcher used the entire population of secretariat for the study. The instrument used for data collection was a 20-item structured questionnaire called ECLOSEC (effects of computer literacy on secretaries) which was prepared by the researcher.
The researcher in order to get the needed result distributed questionnaire to some staff of the CountyGovernment secretariat which was the area of study of this project, and their responses were converted. The researcher was able to found out that there are some effects of computer literacy on modern secretaries which are speed and accuracy, neatness, easy edition, formatting and saving of documents. Also that secretary without computer knowledge cannot be employed in a modern office.
Furthermore, the researcher agreed that the major problem of secretaries is the fear that computer has come to replace them because they know fully well that without computer knowledge they would not be able to do their work perfectly in a modern office. The researcher noticed that students are not taught word processing as a serious course and this has contributed to their failure in performing their job.
It was as a result of these findings, the researcher suggested that every secretary should try hard to become computer literate by going for the training so as to secure gainful employment in a modern office.

Automatic tyre pressure inflation system project report- Automotive engineering
Trending!
As we are aware that by drop of few pressure units in vehicle its results in the reduction in mileage, tyre life, safety and performance. This system can be placed in every in automobile under any operating condition, this will not only maintain the correct tyre pressure but also increase tyre life, mileage and safety so we have fabricated this system to inflate and deflate the tyre automatically by using control units. This system is named automatic because it checks the tyre pressure continuously using built control device and accordingly gives alert signals to the driver about the tyre condition. Driven by studies that show that a drop in tyre pressure by just a few PSI can result in the reduction of gas mileage, tire life, safety, and vehicle performance, we have developed an automatic, self-inflating tire system that ensures that tyres are properly inflated at all times. Our design proposes and successfully implements the use of a portable compressor that will supply air to all four tyres via hoses and a rotary joint fixed between the wheel spindle and wheel hub at each wheel. The rotary joints effectively allow air to be channeled to the tyres without the tangling of hoses. With the recent oil price hikes and growing concern of environmental issues, this system addresses a potential improvement gas mileage; tyre wear reduction; and an increase in handling and tyre performance in diverse conditions.
