the current competitive business environment, the use of advertisement as a marketing strategy cannot be out looked in order to remain competitive in the tourism industry. Advertising has been embraced by many as a result of increased technological advancement, where by social media, broadcasting channels and other technologies have been embraced to market and create awareness about the existence of a product and services in a destination. This study therefore, sought to evaluate the influence/effectiveness of destination advertising on tourism performance in Thomsons Falls, Laikipia County. The specific objectives of this study were to examine the various methods of advertising used in Thomsons Falls, to determine the perception of tourists on the effectiveness of the methods used for advertising, to determine the impacts of the different forms of advertising on tourism performance and also to determine the challenges of advertising. Descriptive research design was used in this study. The study employed purposive sampling method in selecting the sample elements. Primarydatawascollectedusingquestionnairesandinterviewschedules.Secondarydatawas collected from documented information to supplement the primary data. The respondents were the employees in Thomsons Falls, TRA officers Laikipia County and the visitors. The target population was 160 respondents, where 50 respondents were accessed as the sample size. Data was processed and analyzed quantitatively. The analysis was done with the help of Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) and Excel. Measures of central tendency were used to analyze the quantitative data. The data was presented in form of graphs, tables and charts indicating the frequencies, mean and percentages. The key findings were that: Advertising results to increased profits by 23% to the tourism organizations. This is as aresult 15% increase in visitor numbers, the study also concurred that advertising helps in retaining a firms competitiveness in the market and enables a firm to compete favorably as provided by 21% of the respondents. The research found out from 42% of the respondents population that the use of social media, personal selling and media broadcasting are the most embraced marketing tools which are effective to both the organization and the clients. The study findings and recommendations are useful to the travel and tourism industry stakeholders, the government, all other linked industries and the entire society, and it emphasizes on the importance of advertising and how it affects tourism performance.

The study was set to assess impacts of challenges facing Secretaries on their efficiency at work, the case of Kisii County Government – Keroka Offices. In order to meet the general objective of the research, three specific objectives were used which included; to identify challenges facing Personal secretaries at working place, to examine impacts of challenges facing secretaries on their efficiency at work and to identify measures taken by Administrators to improve working conditions of Secretaries.
The researcher applied case study design, specifically focus on Kisii County Government – Keroka Offices to save costs and work within the limited time given. Whereby respondents were selected through purposive sampling in order that just few individuals selected out of the population were typical and representative of the whole population hence with them the researcher was able to collect all needed information.
Armed with the findings, researcher found that personal secretaries faced different challenges including;negative perception towards personal secretaries, low promotions, low level of education and shortage of office equipments. The impacts of these challenges included; misunderstanding among workers, reduced concentration of work and led to rise in inferiority complex among secretaries. The researcher discovered that in order to reduce and resolve those challenges there were some efforts being made which included; training programmes at the work place, equity programmes as well as developing corporate culture.
Personal secretaries are responsible fordisseminating information between offices and individual workers where necessary that is they are responsible to link communications, they are also responsible for screening and handling telephone calls and by application of available equipments they are used to typing office documents and reports.
In order to eliminate these challenges and improve performance of secretaries, the research recommends secretaries to raise their hands together and form their organization just like other professional groups to protect their rights as secretaries in their work places and also society perceptions towards secretarial professional should be neutralized highly in advance.

The main reason for this research work is to discover the problem militating against their operations, these problems have to be considered with the aim of giving relevant suggestion for improvement, the problem there among other things includes; those of poor record keeping, poor account system, embezzlement, fraudulent practices, poor organization, planning control and loan portfolio management. SOIL AMENDMENT EFFECTS (ASH, CHARCOAL AND MANURE) ON PANAMA DISEASE (FUSARIUM WILT) OF BANANA IN KISII COUNTY.
Panama disease has posed a serious threat to banana production, food security and sustainable productivity in Kenya and Kisii County is no exception. The disease was reported in Kenya in 1952, where it was found to cause serious yield losses. The disease is caused by a fungus called Fusariumoxysporumf.sp.cubense. The disease has threatened to deny the local farmers the key source of income and livelihood. This research will delve into ways in which the disease can be managed since there has not been any consistent method of eradicating the destructive Fusariumpathogens. A lot of emphasis has been put on use of chemicals and use of resistant cultivars. The methods have been proved to have economic challenges, environmentally unfriendly and not effective due to pathogen mutations. The objective of this research is to determine the effect of soil amendment on Panama disease in banana plants. The research will also seek to determine the range of PH in which the pathogen develops best in Kisii environment, to investigate on the disease incidence in the study area and investigate the races of panama disease found in Kisii. Literature will be reviewed under five sections namely; impact of panama production, brief history of the disease,epidemiology,symptomatology and management of the panama disease.

This study was carried out to find the psychological nature and consequences of domestic violence on children self-esteem their ages ranges from 0-18 years comprising of urban and rural children they were administered an index of family relation questionnaire which assesses domestic violence an index of self-esteem Pearson is analysis and chi square statistical methods were used. Findings showed that there is a significant relationship between domestic violence and self-esteem revealing that children who experience domestic violence suffer suppress and diminish self-esteem there were significant difference in self-esteem between males and females children from violent and non-violent homes there was no significant difference between urban and rural children the result also found that the aftermath effect of domestic violence often leave the victims with the tendency to abuse their children and spouse violently the paper concludes that wholesome family relations will control the occurrence of domestic violence and its likely effect on children and potential victims

The purpose of the study was to determine the influence of the practice of female genital mutation on the schooling of a girl child in Kuria Eaast sub county. The study sought to achieve results of FGM on schooling of a girl child. The study adopted descriptive survey research design and was guided by general systems theory which states that each concept is a system (Gochmans 1968). The study targeted health administrators, school administrators, parents and girls secondary school in the sub county. The study was carried out with a target population of 95. The researcher used stratified random sampling technique to select the respondents. Questionnaires were used to obtain important information about the population. The study will provide relevant information that will help, the government to formulate and implement such policies that will support the continuity of the implementation of war against female genital mutilation on education. Further the scholars and researchers will use this study as a secondary data to review their literature.

FACTORS INFLUENCING SCHOOL DROP OUT AMONG SECONDARY SCHOOL GOING CHILDREN. A CASE OF SINDO LOCATION, HOMABAY COUNTY
Education is an important life process that plays a vital role in forming the foundation for a student’s future better being as it equips the learning with basic knowledge skills and attitude that will enable him/her to cope well in life. In Sindo location most students who attend secondary school don’t complete secondary level of education. Despite Kenya government commitment to subsidize students education their completion rate at secondary level is not 100%. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of secondary on-going children dropout in Sindo location Homa Bay county. A descriptive survey research design was used for this study it was useful in describing the ethics even when analyzing multivariable. The target population consisted of 8 secondary schools in Sindo location. The population was there for 8 principals 64 teachers and 480 form four students. The data was analyzed by use of statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) programmers. The raw data from the field was summarized coded edited and computerized through synthesizing information from questionnaire by SPSS. The study concluded that income does not influence dropout among students in secondary schools. The attachment to low income is compounded by involvement in income generating activities enabling to afford basic needs, looking after young siblings and inability to pay fees. The study recommended that poverty alleviation measure should be strengthened in the society to enable all families get high income so as to maintain their children in school till completion.

Today’s families experience problems like unfaithfulness, violence, child molestation, divorce and separation. These problems experienced in families affect the youth in those families. The purpose of the study was to find out the effects of family conflicts on the academic performance and interpersonal relationships of youth in Kesses Constituency. This study employed the descriptive survey research design to determine influence of family conflicts in academic performance and interpersonal relationship of the youth under study. The target population of the study was public primary society youth in Kesses Constituency which has 47870 youths. The study was carried out among youth in churches and eight in high schools purposively selected within Kesses Constituency. The study expected to elicit useful data on the effects that family conflicts have on national performance and inter personal relationships among youth. The study findings indicate that both youth and researcher’s agreed to the fact that family conflicts affected a youth cognitive and affective growth. There was low class concentration if parents or guardians were fighting, because the youth were always thinking about the happenings at home. It was also established that a majority of youth did not share with their peers when their parents or guardians were quarrelling. More female youth were exposed to violence or abuse. The study also revealed that youth who came from families where there was conflict did not relate well with their people in the society
