This project presents the development of an intelligent elevator system that employs Arduino based motor speed control to facilitate vertical movement. The system utilizes a stepper motor to maneuver the elevator in response to numeric input from a keypad, enabling efficient and controlled ascents or descents. The absence of position sensors streamlines the design, rendering it cost-effective and simple. Additionally, a display incorporated into the system visually indicates the elevator's direction, enhancing user experience and understanding. The implementation showcases a practical and viable approach for enhancing elevator functionality while considering cost-efficiency and simplicity.

This research focuses on developing a smart fire extinguishing system for gas cooking rooms to enhance household safety. The system is designed to detect gas leaks and fires, and automatically extinguish them before they escalate. It employs gas sensors, smoke detectors, a GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) for notification, and automatic extinguishing mechanisms. Key components of the system include gas sensors that detect leaks, smoke detectors that identify fire, GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) technology is incorporated to send real-time alerts to occupants' mobile phones and emergency services, ensuring immediate awareness and response, and an automatic response system that activates water sprinklers or chemical extinguishers. The system also alerts occupants and emergency services. Tests show that the system quickly detects hazards and responds in real-time, significantly reducing response times and effectively preventing gas cooking fires. This innovative solution enhances domestic safety and can be integrated with smart home technologies for improved risk management. In conclusion, the smart fire extinguishing system for gas cooking rooms offers a reliable, automatic response to fire hazards, improving household safety and providing a foundation for future advancements in smart home safety solutions.

The aim of this research is to design and construct a solar powered mobile phone charger. More especially the objectives are: To design an electric circuit for the purpose of charging through the solar power To carry out a design calculation so as to ascertain the duration for which the rechargeable battery will charge the mobile phone. To run a technical test to verify the variation in the input and output of the charger.

Over the years the manual attendance system has been carried across most of educational institutions. To overcome the problem of manual attendance, now we are using a web based attendance management system, which can be implemented on any computer. This system is being developed to maintain easy access of information from the database. The application makes use of PHP MySQL HTML and CSS. It tracks all the details of a student attendance from day one to end of the course. The conventional method of taking attendance by calling names or signing is very time consuming, insecure and hence inefficient.

Blood transfusion safety is a relevant and significant public health issue in the Kisii blood donation Centre. Since most blood banks are still in paper-based system, various disadvantages are experienced by various stakeholders, which endanger the lives of patients and deter the healthcare system. As such, the researchers aimed to design, develop, and implement an online blood bank management system (BBMS). This web-based application allows hospitals in Oman to make inventories of their blood bags online, subsequently, allowing each hospital to check the availability of blood bags anytime. The researchers designed and administered a questionnaire that assess the perceptions of various stakeholders in both manual-based and BBMS. Based on the findings and results, it was found out that these stakeholders perceived online blood bank management system is much better than the manual system. Therefore, with the use of online blood bank management system, blood transfusion process is safe and secured. Threats on improper blood donor documentation, or misplaced records will be totally eradicated. Also, processes involving recording about blood donors, blood bag collection, storage, and inventory will be systematized and organized, hence, improving the healthcare management for blood banks.

Today developing countries Kenya inclusive have been facing problems in birth certificates processing and their records management which has always resulted from excessive corruption, poor security, inappropriate records management criteria and forgery especially by aging government employees who are always struggling to secure their job positions before retiring. In Kenya the same problem has been experienced in the government employees who utilize the weaknesses in the current manual way of document handling, to keep on falsifying about their true age in the office of the registrar general. This has been as a result of the registrar generates office failure to embrace information technology to help them redesign their business processes by automating some of their operation procedures. Most low developing countries are facing a number of problems in birth and death certificates processing and production these include; bureaucracy, bribery, corruption, forgery, security and poor records management which is currently done manually. This makes the processing of documents slow and more hectic. Therefore, the government of Kenya needs to come up with an automated birth and death certificates records management system to help reduce these problems through embracing information and communication technology (ICT). Therefore there is need to carry out research so as to come out with a secure and a more effective automated system to streamline some business processes such as registration and applications to improve efficiency, enhance planning and decision making An Automated Online Births and Deaths Records Management System is an Information System that serves to capture, store, retrieve and disseminate information about both births and deaths, process certificates and records management in the office of the administrator general of Kenya. It offers a means of information sharing as well as automating the existing manually driven record keeping facility.

This comes in the light that Kenya’s bus travel business has grown steadily over time without matching improvement in ticketing or booking services. For long there has complaints and dissatisfaction among the public because travelers move long distances to book tickets and suffer congestion at bus terminals, unnecessary time wasting as a result of misplaced tickets and unauthorized agents who can cause financial loses. Ticket booking at bus companies is inherently time consuming, inconvenient and sometimes frustrating for time conscious passengers and therefore there is need to develop efficient mechanism that operates through an increasingly available technology like the mobile phone and specifically through a widely used application like SMS. The study examined SMS bus booking reduced terminal congestion, minimize time wastage and eliminate unnecessary expenditure. Bus ticketing is the process whereby customers can order, pay for, obtain and validate tickets from any location and at any time using mobile phones. The passenger downloads the essential program onto his [her mobile phone. This program allows the passenger to press a button to send an SMS to server indicating their travel details (Departure Date, Departure time, Destination Town, Departure Town).
