Description

This project made to make a design of asphalt roads of 4.27 km at Misibya- |Mwembe site in Kiogoro district, Kisii sector. The specific objectives of the study were to produces topographic map of the case study, to design suitable horizontal alignment, vertical alignment, cross sections of road which will facilitate these trucks and heavy vehicles and to calculate and specify the earthwork quantities (cut and fill volume). The topographic analysis of Kiogoro District identifies 4 distinct features: Areas of gentle slopes (less than 20 percent gradient) on the ridges and along the wetlands; areas with steep slopes (more than 20 percent gradient); linear ridges running along the length of the sectors; alluvial plains along the rivers Mwembe and Kiogoro. In this project, researcher collected data by using modern surveying instrument like total station, dump level et c. Laptop with engineering software CAD (computer aided design) which will occupy those topographic that for analysis and transformation to many formats. ArcGIS software for analyzing a spatial location and decision making after buffering the delimitation area for computing a number of people will be expropriated with a project AutoCAD CIVIL 3D which will be used to export and draw geometrical element of road which cross section, longitudinal section, plan view, and topographic map of the field. The average elevation of Kiogoro District is 1,000 m above the sea level. Mount Kisii, the highest point in Kisii, has an elevation of 1,853m and the highest spot in Mageragere Sector has an elevation of 1,810 m. Due to such hilly topography coupled with large scale deforestation, soil erosion and landslides in the District are key recurrent problems faced by the City, which requires adequate soil protection measures to address this issue. Focused on the analysis of finding, our objectives was successfully achieved and showed that the existing road elements do not meet the standard road design to be used due to its damages which are lack of drainage system and other items listed in this work. With design of geometrical element of Misibya- |Mwembe site in Kiogoro district, Kisii sectorasphalt makes the road usable in good conditions and if its maintenance is well done; handle travelling treats for users will achieve. For earthworks quantities, entered data in technical mapping system come across with a paradox phenomenon which issued by total station that affects of the road project implementation due to the increase of earthworks computation varied according to the use of different cross sectional intervals. The construction of this road is important to the Misibya- |Mwembe site. Although a high rate of development in this site, there still problems caused by inappropriate road designed which are inhibit access to social facilities and commercial activities. This road helps to overcome those challenges.

Catering management system project report
Currently Ogembo Caterers and Reception Hollis using a manual system to handle hotel processes. Although this is a standardized quality Reception hall it is not realizing its maximum potential due to delay of the activities of the current redundant manual system. When a guest books a function, all the booking details are recorded in files. Calculation of bills and booked menu items are done manually too. Due to the difficulty in location of guests files because its need a large storage space, it is extremely difficult to staff to manage them efficiently. Also difficulty in data analysis, human errors, poor communication between departments and unauthorized modification of data due to low security levels are main problems that are identified in the existing system. Because of that it is difficult to handle day to day functions of the hotel manually.

Charity management system project report
Charity is defined as the act of kindness where a group of people or an organization whose financial status are high and are willing to contribute part of their income in order to fulfill the needs of those who are less capable. Charity plays an important role in Ideal Life Vision (ILV), it contributes to their financial status and supports development projects in the society, enhance community development and help those who are less capable or affected by pandemics such as floods, diseases el cetera. Most Ideal Life Vision experience a lot of difficulty in getting donations and funds for charity this is as a result of not getting sufficient number of donors who can donate funds or any other items. Some donors demand certain standards from the organization to prove whether they are legal organization when requesting for charity. There is lack of efficiency in which donations are being tracked which leads to lack of trust from donors. The main aim of this project is to come up with a technological solution by developing an information system to address the problem faced by Ideal Life Vision or charity based organizations. The system will be accessed by the administrator, Ideal Life Vision and donors. All users are able to register and login into the system. During registration of a non-governmental organization, it has to submit its registration number in the system proving it’s a legal organization for approval. Once approved by the admin, it will get an email notification of approval and it will be able to login. Upon logging in, they are able to send requests to many donors for donations. The project will also enhance the rate of tracking donations and transactions that have been made. A structured system analysis and design approach was used in solving the problem. Tools that were be used are; HTML, PHP, CSS, JavaScript, XAMPP and MySQL. The project will benefit the organizations by finding a lot of ease in getting donors and keeping track of all donations that have been made.

Educational digital resource sharing system project report
There is a great demand for digital resources such as PowerPoint presentations because many Kenyan schools are shifting to the use of ICT in education. Existing e-learning systems have many limitations that hinder open access, sharing, viewing and discussion of digital resources yet there are technologies in place which can enable it. It is upon this background that we undertook this project with the objective of developing a web system to connect the various stakeholders and develop a culture of sharing open digital resources to promote education in Kenya. During the system requirements elicitation phase, data was collected through studying documentation, participatory prototyping, focus group discussions and online questionnaires. The system was implemented using a number of tools and technologies such as MySQL, HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, Bootstrap, jQuery, D3.js and Ajax. Data analysis was done using SPSS, and the findings showed that whereas most of the respondents were willing to embrace the culture of sharing digital resources, they were not aware of any local systems that could enable them share and collaborate. Some desirable features were suggested for inclusion on the digital resource sharing system such as dynamic search, file upload support for all file types used in Kenyan schools, previewing and reading documents within the browser without the need for additional software, creation of user account profiles, interactions via social media and comments integration, responsiveness to mobile devices, resource reviews, ratings, approvals, proper categorization of resources, free access with low bandwidth, among others. The logical design and physical design was done and the system was implemented with all the suggested features. An early system prototype was uploaded online for user testing and validation. It is highly recommended that teachers in schools embrace the system to make their contribution to sharebility, Kenya’s next top digital education resource.
