This text is designed to teach the concepts and techniques of basic linear algebra as a rigorous mathematical subject. Besides computational proficiency, there is an emphasis on understanding definitions and theorems, as well as reading, understanding and creating proofs. A strictly logical organization, complete and exceedingly detailed proofs of every theorem, advice on techniques for reading and writing proofs, and a selection of challenging theoretical exercises will slowly provide the novice with the tools and confidence to be able to study other mathematical topics in a rigorous fashion.

In this lecture the focus will be to learn about the evolution of psychology from a philosophical discipline to a scientific one. We will find out and learn about different schools of psychology and the modern perspectives of psychology – different approaches that modern psychologists use to explain human nature. Psychology has evolved into a discipline that can be treated from both basic and applied perspective. As a scientific discipline we will learn about modern research methodologies that scientific psychologists use to study human and animal behaviour. The significance of ethical issues will also be addressed.

For example, we can calculate the half-life of the decomposition reaction discussed in Sample Exercise 12.2. The data plotted in Fig. 12.5 show that the half-life for this reaction is 100 seconds. This is why quality is looked upon by many organizations as the means by which they can survive in n increasingly aggressive market and maintain a competitive edge over their competitors

Educational Measurement and Evaluation (PSY 311) is a 3rd Year, Second Semester course which requires knowledge of course PSY 210 and PSY 310, both of which deal with aspects of measurement and evaluation in psychological testing.

The course is intended to familiarize students with the various pollutants and their interaction within the environment. A detailed review of the chemical concepts of environmental chemistry will be tackled and advanced applications such as ozone depletion, treatment of pollutants and green chemistry. A detailed account of the chemical processes of the atmosphere, lithosphere and hydrosphere and effects of pollutants on these processes and the biosphere will be reviewed.

Scarcity is a naturally occurring limitation on the resource that cannot be replenished Because of scarcity, various economic decisions must be made to allocate resources efficiently. A shortage occurs whenever quantity demanded is greater than quantity supply at the market price. Over time, the good will be replenished and the shortage condition resolved.

Microbiology is the study of microbes. Pharmaceutical microbiology may be defined as that part of microbiology that has a special bearing in pharmacy in all aspects. This will range from manufacturing and quality in pharmaceutical products to understanding the mode of action of antibiotics.
