Influence of leadership on employee productivity at Vision Point Sacco Society- hrm research
This study was founded on the need to establish the influence of leadership on employee productivity at Vision Point Sacco Society. To achieve the objective of the study, the study used a descriptive survey research design determine the influence of leadership on employee productivity. The target population of the study included all the managers and employees of Vision Pont Sacco Ltd. A sample size of 225 was selected from a population of 450 managers and employees. The study used primary data which was collected by a semi-structured questionnaire. The data was collected from managers and employees of commercial Sacco using a drop and pick- later method. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis. The study found that a unit increase in transformational leadership style, transactional leadership style and Laissez-faire leadership style leads to increase in employee productivity. It further established that employees at VPSS act in a way that build each other, display a sense of power and confidence and they go beyond self-interest for the good of the group. The study also established that employees do not fail to interfere until problems become serious and they do not wait for things to go wrong before taking action. It also revealed that employees direct their attention toward failures to meet standards; they keep track of all mistakes and focus attention on irregularities, mistakes, exceptions, and deviations from standards. The study therefore recommends that leaders to be aware of what is important for the subordinates and the organizations as a whole and encourage the employees to see the opportunities and challenges around them creatively. The study suggests that a similar study can be replicated in other Sacco’s in the Kenya such as Vision point Sacco. Further research should also be done involving all the employees at commercial Sacco.

the impact of emotional intelligence (EI) on leadership effectiveness (LE) within the North Kisii Town Branch of the Co-operative Bank of Kenya- hrm research project
The purpose of this research was to explore the impact of emotional intelligence (EI) on leadership effectiveness (LE) within the North Kisii Town Branch of the Co-operative Bank of Kenya. The study aims to provide valuable insights to enhance the bank's leadership effectiveness. Data was collected through questionnaires and standardized tests, and the analysis was performed using SPSS 25. The research approach in the study combines descriptive and explanatory research designs. Descriptive Research Design: This component assesses the current levels of emotional intelligence (EI) and leadership effectiveness among managers and supervisors at the Co-operative Bank of Kenya’s North Kisii Town Branch. It documents the existing state of these variables, identifies patterns and trends, and informs the explanatory analysis. Explanatory Research Design, this component investigates the contribution of EI in predicting leadership effectiveness. It explores the relationships between EI dimensions (self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management) and leadership outcomes. This multi-faceted approach ensured a thorough investigation of the role of EI in shaping leadership effectiveness. Descriptive and inferential analysis techniques, such as tables and descriptive correlations, were employed. The questionnaires were completed by 196 employees of the Co-operative Bank. The findings indicate a positive relationship between managers' EI and their leadership effectiveness. The study also assessed the EI levels of 44 managers, which were found to be close to the average. However, there were areas where the perception of EI leadership, particularly in self-management, showed a decline. These findings suggest that the bank's leaders need to improve their self-control, take responsibility for their emotions, demonstrate honesty, enhance their listening skills, and provide better support to their subordinates. Additionally, the managers displayed deficiencies in forwardthinking, addressing the emotions and perceptions of their subordinates, and fostering mutually beneficial relationships. The research also revealed weaknesses in conflict management, social interaction, and adherence to expected behavioral standards. On the other hand, leadership effectiveness was associated with strong decision-making skills, effective communication, team cohesion, innovation, and mutual support among employees. However, there were shortcomings in fair evaluation, providing meaningful feedback, and relevant information to employees. The findings underscore the importance of developing emotional intelligence to improve leadership effectiveness. The study concludes that raising awareness of EI, particularly in the area of social awareness, establishing an EI-focused team, and enhancing understanding of subordinates' emotions will contribute to better leadership quality, fair evaluation, and meaningful feedback within the Co-operative Bank of Kenya.

ASSESSING THE BARRIERS TO EFFECTIVE STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP ON CORPORATE STRATEGY IMPLEMENTATION IN KENYAN- BUSINESS RESEARCH PROJECT
This research aimed to examine the barriers emerging from organisational structure, communication strategies and management commitment to corporate strategy implementation. The independent variables within the framework were organisational structure, communication strategies and management commitment, and the dependent variable was corporate strategy implementation. The research used a case study design with a quantitative approach. A nonprobability sampling technique with a total population sampling procedure was used guided by the three specific objectives (i) To assess the influence of organisational structure on strategic leadership in managing corporate strategy implementation (ii) To determine the influence of communication strategies on strategic leadership in managing corporate strategy implementation at Safina Media Group and (iii) To identify the contributing factors to management commitment in facilitating corporate strategy implementation at Safina Media Group. The main data collection instrument was a questionnaire distributed to 55 workers in total, and all 55 usable responses were received and analysed through SPSS 25. The objectives of the study were achieved through descriptive analysis. The analysis revealed that the highest rated barriers to effective strategic leadership are the information management system, poor communication, innovativeness and technology (M = 2.31, DS = 0.99 and M = 3.3304, SD = 1.27 and M = 2.26, SD = 1.04 and 2.28, SD = 1.99) respectively. This could be interpreted that a poor information management system, poor communication, poor innovativeness and low technology form barriers to effective strategic leadership in corporate strategy implementation at Safina Media Group. The findings and conclusion give recommendations that Management needs to understand the importance of managing information, communication, and technological innovations in a long-term perspective. Staff should be given information to carry out their human resource activities as well as make individual holders of management positions aware of the consequences of weak relationships with any employee on corporate strategic implementation. Last but not least, this similar study should be carried out with other entities of similar characteristics for comparison of the findings obtained and the validity of outcomes.
