Specific Objectives: To establish the causes of poor performance of secretaries in the Ministry of Works and Transport. To find the influence of workplace factors to performance of secretaries To find the factors that affect performance of secretaries in the Ministry of Works and Transport.

The main aim of the study is to examine the impact of modern office technologies on secretaries’ level of productivity at the Head office of the Ministry of Education. Specifically, the research aims at achieving the following objectives. To ascertain the range of new office technologies existent at the MOE To investigate the level of usage of these new office technologies To identify the level of productivity of the secretaries at the MOE

This research work is an investigation into the challenges of modern automation on the job performance of secretaries in Kisii County Government Area of Kisii County. This research study has been broken down into five sequencing chapters. Each chapter dealt with an aspect of the entire work or goal of the study. The first chapter encompassed the introduction of this research work, and its compositions; the second chapter focused on the review of relevant literature on modern automation, the types of modern automation equipment, uses and advantages of each; the third chapter focused on the methods and materials used in the research study; fourth chapter is on analysis of collected data, discussion and interpretation of results and findings of the study; which shows that the modern automation office equipments are very important in Educational organization today and also shows that with the use of modern automation equipment, it facilitate speed of the activities in the office of a secretary and fifth chapter round off with summary, conclusion and recommendation. It is concluded that the researcher discovered the role of an investigation into challenges of modern automation on secretary job performance in Kisii County Government Area of Kisii County Kenya. It is recommended that secretaries should be trained with new modern automation machine in order to meet up. The new economy and modern automation machine should also be made available to schools and institutions where secretaries are trained.

INCREASING IRISH POTATO PRODUCTION BY USE OF ORGANIC AND INORGANIC FERTILIZERS The research was carried out in OYANI CROP AND LIVESTOCK FARM. It was based on planting of Solanomtuberosom in small plots measuring 4×3m. From each plot, different fertilizers were used i.e; Organic fertilizer, Inorganic fertilizers Both organic and inorganic fertilizers And the a control plot Data from the plots were collected using the following methods: Measuring, direct observation and weighing of yield. To analyze the effects of fertilizers on Irish potatoes these methods were used: Study of the leaf surface size of potato, Height of the stem and Time of harvesting crop in each plot. Bar graphs, pie-charts and comparative 6cm graphs histograms were used to analyses data The objectives of the study were to identify the rate of fertilizer application, investigate the economic importance of organic and inorganic fertilizer, control of the root node nematodes by use of organic fertilizers, and also to establish conditions necessary in the preparation of manure. The study of integrating fertilizer i.e. Farm yard manure and commercial fertilizers indicates that the yields high and of good qualityTherefore the farmers the farms are recommended to use both farms yard manure and commercial fertilizer at the rate of 1:1 for better quality and high yield results.
