This book is a culmination of several years of research, which involved studying the needs of both students and legal practitioners and the entire legal fraternity in this area of law. The idea of writing this book crystallised in the year 2000. This period witnessed a tremendous growth in the utilisation of judicial review as a remedy against administrative actions in Kenya, a trend that will never abate, as it is a direct reaction to the growth of administrative powers and functions. Most unfortunately, however, the period also witnessed to the deplorable level of ignorance that continues to characterize the appreciation of the subject of judicial review in Kenya. Something had to be done to clarify the legal issues and principles in this field of practice. This book addresses the paucity of literature in the field.
